Despite their very public divorce announcement this past December, Russell Brand admits to Ellen DeGeneres that he still has love for his ex Katy Perry.

The 36-year-old funnyman — who decided to unfollow his ex, 27, on Twitter this past week– confessed, “I still love [Katy] as a human being. But, sometimes when you’re in a relationship I suppose it doesn’t work out, does it? But that doesn’t mean I regret it or anything.”

Russell couldn’t help but gush over his ex, adding of Katy,

“I was very happy to be married with her. She’s such a beautiful human being and I just have only love and positivity for her.”

Since their split, Russell has been romantically linked to several women while Katy is dating Florence + The Machine guitarist Robert Ackroyd. (more…)

Katy Perry is the latest addition to a growing list of superstar performers taking the stage at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas, which airs live May 20 on ABC at 8 p.m. ET from the MGM Grand Arena.

The pop star will be debuting her new song, “Wide Awake,” written for her upcoming film Katy Perry: Part of Me, live on the BBMA stage.

Previously announced performers include Chris Brown, Justin Bieber, Carrie Underwood, LMFAO, CeeLo Green, Kelly Clarkson, Usher, The Wanted, Linkin Park and Nelly Furtado.

Hosting this year’s event will be Modern Family co-stars Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell.Tickets for the 2012 Billboard Music Awards are now on sale at Ticketmaster.com and MGMGrand.com. The 2012 Billboard Music Awards will be co-executive produced by Richard D. Beckman, CEO of Prometheus Global Media and Don Mischer Productions.

Katy Perry has some news for her Katy Cats. She just wrapped up production on a brand-spankin’-new music video. The singer tweeted about the shoot, teasing that the video will play some part in her forthcoming 3-D big-screen spectacle “Katy Perry: Part of Me,” out in July.

“3rd long ass day of shooting … the new music video!!!!! #workinggirl,” she tweeted late Wednesday. “About to shoot one of the last scenes for the music video … I have to pick a costume from the Cali Dreams Tour, which would u pick? #KP3D.”

While she didn’t specify for which track she was shooting the video, when she sat down with MTV News in March, she noted that she did have a video concept in mind for her Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection track “Wide Awake.”

“I know exactly what that music video is. I know exactly who is directing it. I know the art direction, the people, the narrative,” she explained. “And I had that idea while I was writing the song.”

In the same interview, Perry talked about the dreamy breakup track. “Well, there were two songs that I had from Teenage Dream that I couldn’t put on, it was ‘Part of Me‘ and ‘Dressing Up.’ And then I knew we were doing the re-release and so I was like, ‘I got to get in the studio,’ because I can’t wait eight months to be able to put out this feeling that I’m feeling right now,” she said. ” ‘Cause God knows, it would take eight months to do another record. I couldn’t do it on the fly, to set up records it takes time.

“So I was like, ‘I’m getting into studio.’ I had two days to write and I wrote it with my regular crew,” she said of working with Dr. Luke, Max Martin and Bonnie McKee for the song. “Then I had two days to record. It was literally … I submitted the lyrics before I submitted the music because it was by the hair of my chinny chin chin that I put that song on the record. But I have a film that’s coming out in the summer that’s like a concert documentary. Not only did I write the song because I needed to flush that out of my system, but I wrote it for the film as well.”

Katy Perry has agreed a deal with Pepsi to promote her concert movie.

The ‘Firework‘ hitmaker’s ‘Part of Me 3D‘ concert film will be promoted by the soft drinks firm in a series of advertisements across radio, TV, print and online media ahead of its release on July 5.

As part of the deal, fans will be given the chance to win tickets to the world premiere of the film – which will be streamed live online by Pepsi – in Los Angeles, at which Katy will perform.

LeeAnne Stables, an executive for Paramount – who are distributing the film – said: ‘Pepsi is one of the world’s leading brands, and this integrated partnership provides an incredible platform for us to build fan anticipation to see this exciting glimpse into Katy‘s world when the movie comes to theatres this summer.’

As well as chronicling Katy‘s 2010 and 2011 ‘California Dreams‘ tour, the movie also features a series of backstage clips and sees the star speak candidly on a range of subjects, including her religious upbringing and her struggle to find success.

A teaser trailer for the film also included glimpses of newspaper headlines detailing her split from husband Russell Brand in December.

Just a year and a half after she purchased it, soon-to-be divorcee Katy Perry is getting rid of her and Russell Brand‘s Big Apple love nest, the New York Post reports.

A “mystery buyer” snagged the swanky two-bedroom duplex, located on North Moore Street in NYC’s Tribeca neighborhood, for nearly all of its $2.75 million asking price (Perry, 27, had purchased the pad for around that price back in September 2010, one month before tying the knot with Brand).

The “Firework” singer and her husband of 14 months split last December; according to his divorce filing, the Arthur actor will not seek spousal support from his estranged wife, who is worth nearly $70 million.

Perry, for her part, seems focused on moving forward; lately, the pop star has been spending time with Florence and the Machine guitarist Robert Ackroyd, whom she was spotted making out with at Coachella.

Though her fling with Ackroyd is new, “They’re having a fabulous time,” an insider tells Us Weekly of the pair. “It’s cute puppy love!”

A special edition of Katy‘s triple platinum album Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection, was released on March 26, and features three new songs.  Katy Perry: Part Of Me, the 3D feature film starring Perry releases July 5, and is a first-ever big-screen look at the international superstar’s life both on and off-stage.

Looking as if she’s totally over Russell Brand, Katy Perry was spotted climbing all over her new boyfriend Robert Ackroyd at the 2012 Coachella Music Festival on Sunday (April 22).

The “Hot N Cold” songstress was definitely hot for her man, who happens to be the guitarist for Florence and the Machine, and she wasn’t afraid to show it.

Ms. Perry threw her arms around Robert and kissed him throughout the evening while festival-goers and shutterbugs looked on.

And as the evening drew to a close, Robert took to his Twitter page to share his delight-

“Best Coachella ever. Scratch that, best weekend ever. Dre, Snoop, Pac, Nate, Fiddy & KP.”

While performing for Naval Academy personnel, Katy Perry made one sailor’s dreams come true by pulling him up on stage for a smooch on Friday (April 20).

All dolled up in her version of a sailors uniform, the “Part of Me” singer seductively teased one young midshipman by running her hand down the front of his shirt and saying he had a “nice, crisp crease” before electrifying the crowed when she asked for a kiss.

Katy warned the sailor,

“If I told you I had a cold, If I told you I flew in here with a 101.8 temperature, would you still be alright with that?”

When the lad yelled out,

“Oh yeah!” the 27-year-old singer then said, “You know that iconic pose? You know when they’re all getting off the ships?”

With the crowd erupting in screams, Miss Perry then wrapped her arm around the sailor to recreate the famous Times Square “sailor kissing nurse” pose and perked up her lips to lay one on the serviceman.

She’s always up for a good shindig, and last night (April 18) Katy Perry was in the house for the 2012 ASCAP Pop Music Awards.

The “I Kissed a Girl” songstress showed up at the Renaissance Hotel in Hollywood, sporting a beautiful art deco-style gown as she posed for the press.

And it was a big night for Katy, who nabbed a trophy for her hit song “E.T.” as did her producing trio of Max Martin, Ammo, and Dr. Luke.
